Project Description
Stalactite Chess is a prototype end table with a flip-top chess board and magnetic game pieces inspired by natural formations found in caves.
When fulfilling its purpose as an end table, the chess pieces remain hanging below the surface and with one quick flip, the table is ready for play.
The design of the sheet metal pieces was intentionally constrained to minimize waste. When laying flat, all the parts nest together for efficient use of raw material.
